The Family Archive: A yearly portrait membership built around one full session and two petite sessions, created to document family life as it evolves over time.

As a documentarian of my own family chaos (and beauty!) across many seasons, I value capturing more than just major milestones or noticing how my children's looks have changed as they grow. I’m equally drawn to the day-to-day: the ordinary routines, in-between moments, and the small details that might otherwise slip by without witness. I document the families I work with in the same way I capture my own-- by simply noticing with a loving gaze.

I've trained my eye to capture the way your toddler tucks their tongue into their cheek while concentrating on stacking blocks or drawing a picture, the way your partner gently pulls your hair away from tiny, grasping fingers. There is so much beauty in tender bedtime snuggles, backyard picnics, sibling squabbles and play, slow weekend mornings sipping coffee in bed, silly bathtime giggles, tiny tantrums, and the scrape of a stool across the kitchen floor as a little helper comes to chop vegetables for dinner, but these are moments we rarely invite someone in to doument. These are the pieces of life that are deeply meaningful, but seldom photographed. It is my opinion that, over time, these moments will form a truer record of your family life than the obligatory annual posed family portrait. This is type of family archive I want to create for the family's I work with.

The Family Archive membership was created with this in mind. It is an intentional, flexible approach to portraiture that allows space for both the meaningful milestones and the quieter moments, and it is an oppotunity for me to document your family again and again as life unfolds.

What Is The Family Archive Membership?

The Family Archive Membership is a year-long portrait experience that includes:

• One Full Portrait Session (At-home or your family's "happy place")

  • 2 hour session, All digital downloads

• Two "Petite" Portrait Sessions

  • each session 45 minutes, 10 digital downloads from each petite session gallery

• At the end of the year, you will recieve 4X6 prints of each and every keeper (regardless of whether you chose the digital download from your gallery) from each gallery.

  
  

This structure offers both depth and flexibility. There is room for a full legnth, unhurried session, plus two shorter touchstone sessions to mark moments that matter throughout the year. The 4X6 prints are included so that you will have a physical, tangible record of your family life that you can display/store any way that suits your needs.

Session Options

Your membership can be customized to reflect where you are right now. There is no required timeline for scheduling sessions and no pressure to fit your family into a preset mold. Petite sessions may include:

• Grandparents & legacy portraits: A quiet session at home with grandparents and grandchildren.

• Seasonal fun: Summer evenings in the yard, pumpkin picking or carving in fall, holiday traditions in winter, a family walk in spring.

• Birthday documentation: invite me over for cake or along for a special birthday outing.

• At-home motherhood portraits: Images of you as you are right now-- no need for a “reason” beyond wanting to remember life the way it was.

• Everyday connection: Just your family, in your space, doing the ordinary things you’ll one day wish you’d photographed more.

To me, one of the most meaningful parts of offering this membership is the opportunity for a family/photographer relationship that grows alongside the images. By working together more than once (or once a year), we build trust and familiarity. Your kids will recognize me and everyone in the family will become more relaxed and comfortable with being photographed over time.
